About us

It all started with an invitation.

We’re Mesi and Bence. Envelopio was born while we were planning our own wedding: from what worked for us, and from what very nearly got the better of us.

The first weeks of planning.

When we started planning our wedding, we soon realised that even the invitation was a small project of its own. Quotes from printers, envelopes, an address list, and after that would have come the hardest part: our guests lived in several different towns, and the invitations really ought to have been delivered in person.

That would have meant weekends in the car, driving from one town to the next.

  • Getting quotes from printers
  • Envelopes, addressing, stamps
  • A weekend tour of several towns
  • ‘Did you get it?’ phone calls

02

We made a digital one for ourselves.

So we put together our own: an envelope with a wax seal that our guests touched, and our invitation opened. It had everything we needed: the schedule, the venue, accommodation, and a countdown to the big day.

Our guests loved it, and everything became simpler for us: one link, and everyone received it, wherever they lived.

Some of our older relatives would have liked it on paper, so we printed it and took it round in person too. The two worked beautifully side by side, which is why Envelopio includes a printable card with a QR code.

Where we got lost.

After the invitation came everything else. We wrote the seating plan out on sheets of paper, then crossed it out, then started again. Every cancellation and every new guest meant another sheet, and by the end even we didn’t know which one was right.

The budget was even worse. So many small costs cropped up along the way that we simply paid them, and, to be honest, we may still not know exactly what our wedding cost.

We asked for RSVPs by message, and had to gather them up ourselves, one by one.

And yes, Bonnie brought the rings.

She was our ring bearer and our most important guest: she brought the rings at the ceremony, and stayed with us until the very end.

Because a wedding becomes truly yours when every part of it is about you. We’d like the planning to feel the same: easy, clear, with time left for what really matters.

We’d love it to be this easy for you too.
